Nilknarf Daily Haiku

the pain of being
is very mild, when you think
about NOT being.

The sexiest pictures on the web are at http://www.weather.gov/sat_loop.php?image=wv&hours=12 even thought they are slow-loading.

Yep, the water vapor loops... just beautiful.

And there are so many variables that these pictures can never be duplicated by humans, even with the most powerful computers... just direct photography from a sattelite.

Yeah, I shouldn't say never, should I?

This morning started off great, and kept getting greater....

We got up and went to the hospital and I got my blood drawn and gave them a urine sample and then for the big event... breakfast at St. Francis!

We both had an omelette, and it was excellent... and I got to see a lot of people that I haven't seen for quite a while as we were eating.

Then we went out to Sams after filling the car up with cheap gas at the Star station by the hospital.

I'd been thinking for weeks about how to re-arrange the living room... make that months or years, really... and when I saw the anti-gravity chair (it's not really anti-gravity, though, after just a cursory check it proved to succumb to gravity just as readily as any other object composed of mass) it all clicked in my mind.

The chair was on sale, so I bought it and we came home with it and I immediately had Tyler put the old recliner out on the curb....

And the new chair is OK, but that "click" that I had in my head was evidently just two random neurons colliding and ricocheting around... this is not the final solution.

But it is a damned fine chair.

We rested for a while, for we had other things to do... we met Herman for dinner at 16:00 and had an excellent meal, and it was fun introducing him to Jean.

And then we had another stop... Dillons, the grocery store, and got a bunch of stuff and Jean remembered to get the cloth bags that I'd bought a month or so ago... and we got $0.05 for using each one, so we got $0.20 back, even though we only used three of the four bags..

That means that they'll pay for themselves in less than a year, and that's a pretty good ROI if they hold up and we remember to use them.

It is wonderful having a companion again... Jean and I have so much fun together!

And we are each good at making the other one happy....
