Eh... Monday. I was the runner today, and the only vein that I missed this morning was a fellow who told me that it had taken me two tries to get him six months ago. Well, this was a challenge, of course; and I took my best shot and I missed. I moved to the other arm, and he told me, "That's the same thing that you did then!" And yeah, excellent vein on the left, a so-so deceptive one on the right. I told him that next time he comes in to tell me before I stick his right AC that he's got a good one on the other side. Whether either he or I remember this day is something that we'll find out... in six months. And the afternoon started out bad... I tried four times to get a 20gs in an AC on this poor lady... she told me that I had hit her the first time a year ago, so I had some confidence going in... but that was short-lived, and I had to call for help. And the help got it on the first stick, of course. I left all of those tracks to let her know where not to try, heh. The rest of the afternoon was OK, though. All of the people at work think that Karen should go down to MD anderson, and so does everyone else that I've talked to... and I filled out an online registration for her yesterday. I did get several calls on Karen at work... When I got home, she was talking to JD, still in bed... he'd been checking on her all day. Shortly after I got there she got nauseated and threw up, poor girl. Gave her a suppository for that, and in a coupla hours I made her get up and watch Dancing with the Stars, she loves that show. And she was up for about three hours, pretty good. And I'm gonna hit the sack soon, but I've gotta share this little GIF... the epitome of feline compassion:
the haridans' convention;
older than they look.
she was supposed to go in today and get a shot, but she'll do that on Wednesday instead. I'm pretty sure that it was the morphine that did her in these last three days... we've learned that that's not a drug that she can use with impunity.
