ARCHIVES - 1996 to FOREVER

But Karen and I did get up at 07:00, and we went to Lacees' eighth-grade graduation. It was pretty much OK, but lasted ***way*** too long, as these things do. But Lacee was really pretty and happy, and that made Karen happy... she's already pretty, of course. Come to think of it, so is Lacee.

And it was a beautiful day, high about 70°F... after the ceremony, Karen went out to eat with Kim and Leora, the other grandma. She got back about noonish, and then we went for a nice walk.

And had a nice talk... we need to do that more often, as much as we can. Time alone together is really wonderful, with no real distractions.

Well, except fopt the fact that every fifth house that we passed, she got an idea for what we could do to our house, heh.

But she did tell me that she wasn't ready to give up, and that she would let me know when she did.

And JD has been busy making arrangements, or at least formulating a plan, to get her seen at MD Anderson, and I think that she's good with that.

The boys and I have been spending a lot of time talking... man, I love having them near. And Karen really enjoys them too, of course. They will be here through next week.

Karen decided that yeah, maybe some morphine would be OK to take for her cough, and we had to go to the hospital and get the actual prescription, not something that they could call in... damn these laws.

And she has been taking it, and it's making her feel better, of course.

In fact, she has had the best day that she has had for a long time... most of that's because we're just further out from the chemo and she's healing... the rest is from the lift that she's getting from just being out and about, I think. And my boys have something to do with that, too.

And it's way past my bedtime again, but I have slept better the last two nights, and I'm confident that I will do that again tonight.
