ARCHIVES - 1996 to FOREVER

I awoke about on time, only hit the snoozebar twice that I remember, heh.

I came upstairs and went out to get the paper... and it was very pleasant out there, unlike the muggy mornings lately that presaged the stupid-hot days.

We'd had a storm about 05:30 or so... didn't wake me up, but there was some evidence that it was preceded by some wind; stuff knocked over and such, but nothing of any import.

I got to work early, as usual, and damned near forgot to clock in....

Work wasn't too bad, and there was enough of it to keep us pretty busy most of the day. I was the Z tech, but nothing interesting there, so I was the ancillary runner, heh.

And I'm on call this weekend, and I got called in shortly after I got home to do a CT aortagram on a patient. He didn't have the requisite IV in his AC, so I put one in and did the exam, which turned out beautifully. Got some really pretty post-processed images, too, heh.

Our regular evening tech was off today, and the tech who is training for his job was alone, and she hasn't done many contrast CTs yet... it takes a while to gain confidence doing these things, and I'm still really not that confident of myself on the new machine.

After that I came home and I've only had one call since then, just a question about doing a common exam on an increasingly common patient... someone with a kyphotic spine who can't be properly positioned on the machine.

So I've just been fiddling around since I got home, I think that I'm gonna devote tomorrow to the shop, it's gonna be another nice day, mid-eighties, just like today... and today was beautiful, such a change!

The weather makes a big change in my attitude when it's so damned hot, even though I'm inside for most of the time. Give me cold! That I can stand, it makes my brain sharper and my steps lighter, it does.

When I got up this morning, I found that I had lost my UPS in the computer room... I've had it for less than a year, dammit! So I need to get another one soon....
