"Tropical Storm Bill" followed by the word "Louisiana" were crawling on the bottom of the TV screen when I glanced at it this morning on my way to get my first cuppa coffee. So... Louisiana has passed a bill banning tropical storms. Say, weren't these the same people who decided that pi should be three so as not to confuse people with fractions and decimals? Anyways, it would make more sense for all of the gulf states to band together to do their banning, maybe even extend it to some non-gulf states, like Arkansas and Oklahoma, whose population sometimes gets wet from those damned things too. Hell, that really sounds like something that the national legislators should get involved in.... Huh? O? A *named* storm? I gets lots of my exercise jumping to conclusions, heh. Anyhoo, the sad news for the day is that JD and Tyler have returned to Texas. In fact, I got an e-mail from them at 18:00 and they were leaving Oklahoma, poor boys. JD's cell phone does e-mail, how cool is that, huh? At least one way, anyway... I sent him one back, and I'm sure that it got there. In other news Hepburn died at 96. She was an avowed atheist, but acquired her fame as an actress, of course. Must remember, we get our fame from what we do, not what we believe. Whatever *that* might mean, heh. BabyBush lies exposed(http://protest.bmgbiz.net/wheresosama.html). So what's new? When you're trying to establish a theocracy, the ends justify the means. Our people continue to die over there. Protect that oil, dammit! Today's picture: Tyler on my right, JD on my left. JD on *your* right, Tyler on *your* left. Good-looking, sweet-hearted kids, both of them. Which reminds me of the old saw: don't get in a fight with an ugly guy, he's got nothing to lose... no, I don't know why I thought of that, it just seems to be one of those days. Some temporary sadness, I hope: Lynda B (http://www.3harpiesltd.com/lfeb/) has hung it up... I'll miss her, and I wish her well. And I'm confident that she'll be back. Day-um, June is over, now it's onward, onward, irrevocably onward into the fiery heart of summer.... And I've gotta do the stuff in the archives for July, that's always a chore.... And an entry wouldn't really be complete without me bitching about something health-wise... my back is starting to tighten up on me again, probably the result of moving a patient by myself yesterday. Took some flexeril and hoping for the best. In the Mail: On the shelf:
