Cool day, it really was.
We arose late, since I'd been up past 0-1:30 last night with JD... Karen and Annette went out shopping about 11:00, before I was fully awake, and Tyler called shortly after they left, he was going to shower and come down.
So JD and I messed with his computer, trying to get his ATAII 30 GB drive to work. We finally did, but then it failed later in the day. I'm gonna take it home and put it into one of the Linux machines, they're not nearly as picky as Windoze boxen.
So anyways, Tyler called again about 13:00, instead of coming in to Houston, he'd fallen back asleep... he still had to take a shower and drive 70 miles to get here.
But he did, eventually, and we went to a local store in a mexican food chain and had tacos... I had three, Tyler had four, and JD had three black bean tacos. The food was pretty good, but no great shakes.
The girls got home about 17:00 and were bearing gifts, Karen got me some sunglasses and Annette got JD a really neat drum... the cat skin drumhead still had the fur on it for a fringe. Sounded pretty cool, too.
So we just hung around for a while, I really enjoy being around JD and Tyler, and Annette and Karen, of course, didn't mean to leave them out at all.
JD had mentioned something about a water wall, and I was curious to see what that was about, so we decided to go look at that and then go eat at a salad place, the Crispy Tomato or something like that.
We approached the water wall from the south side, and yeah, it was pretty impressive... a massive curved wall, 64 feet high, with cascading water. Yep, pretty cool, all right.
And then we went around to the other side, and I was awe-stricken. A lot like the Grand Canyon, only totally different. The wall was a waterfall on the inside, too, and the most psychedelic thing I've seen/experience I've had since I quit doing drugs back in the early eighties.
For the curious, put Houston Water Wall into google.com....
We then went to Best Buy (me, Tyler and JD) while Karen and Annette went to another store in the shopping center. We got Tyler a USB PCI card and bought a movie, 2010.
So we ate after that, and of course everything else after seeing the fountain was anticlimactic. In fact, everything else in my life might just be anticlimactic after that.
We came home and watched the movie, it wasn't bad but not my favorite, either.
And now, once again, it's way too late for me to be up....
