I had a helluva time getting to sleep last night, I think that it was about 00:30 before I finally did. Every other night something keeps me up. Or maybe that's two out of three? Anyways, I went to work at 08:00, and it was the slowest day that we've had since I started on days doing CT. We had zero patients between 09:00 and 11:30 or so. Really spooky. Of course, it picked up pretty good in the afternoon, with the ER and the floors both doing their best to keep us busy. I did get outta there on time though, right at 16:30, and I was home at 16:45... virtually *no* traffic. More spooky stuff.... Debbie, Karen's sister, arrived sometime during the day, and they and Lacee were gone when I got home, but Kim and Patrick were sitting here waiting for them to get home. Well, it seems that Kim and Lacee had an appointment at 18:30, and Lacee had completely forgotten about it, and neither Karen nor Debbie knew anything about it. Kim and Patrick left about 17:30, and the girls got back at 18:15. Lacee remembered her appointment as soon as I reminded her about it, so off she went. So, Karen and Debbie and I decided to go out to eat, and nobody wanted to be the one making the decision, so we ganged up on Karen, and she decided on Ruby Tuesday... we went there and had a nice meal and then Debbie and I and the waitress had a fight over who was going to pay... Yeah, it's a kinda long story, so I'd best get started, heh. The waitress brought the ticket and I handed her my card, but Debbie said no, she was going to get it. You know how that sort of thing goes... but the waitress pissed Debbie off, saying that her policy is to take the first card offered. Debbie told the girl that it wasn't *her* decision... and went to the manager. I'm not really sure what happened, but I wound up paying, and Karen and I assured Debbie that we would let her pay for the next meal. Well, that wasn't such a long story anyhoo, was it? Not to change the subject, but this journal is getting pretty boring lately... for you guys, of course, not for me... and I'm trying to decide how to spice it up, other than the addition of the movies dealie. And to me, whenever I see movies listed on other sites, well, yeah, I think, "How boring!" well, except for my favorite journallers, and I really enjoy seeing what they're watching, of course. But I need to face the fact that when I went on days most of the excitement went out of my life. Night people are, by their very nature, more exciting than regular people. And the work that I do is so different now, the life and death drama on a daily basis really heightened my awareness of the world and shit that really matters. Now I'm pretty much insulated from stuff like that, and I really miss it, and I'm sure that it has made a big difference in my writing. Eh, just something for me to think about.... On the shelf:
Well, I've only watched about half of this one. I'll probably finish it up tomorrow. No stars from me yet.
