Yet another record-setting day... Hot! I may not have mentioned it here before, but I don't like hot. I love perfect (70-80F), I don't really mind cold, but I hate hot. And if we're gonna start getting six months of hot here in Kansas I will be looking to move to Minnesota or somewhere more northerly... as long as they're civilized... that means high-speed internet, of course. Busy day at work, mostly. I didn't get called in any more yesterday/last night, so I got a good night's sleep. Well, no, I didn't, actually. I woke up about 03:30 and I'd taken my CPAP off, couldn't breather out of my nostrils. So I spent the rest of the night snoring and waking myself up. After work, I went over to pick up some carpet... one of the guys that I work with is installing wood floors, and he's taking out 2-year old carpet, so I arranged to take it off of his hands. It's just about enough to do the spare bedroom, so maybe we can get started on that project... as long as we have to take all of the furniture out of the room, we might as well paint it, and I should just go ahead and replace the windows while I'm at it. Damn, this evening has gotten away from me. Karen and I went out to eat tonight, to the Outback. I had their special steak, and it was better than the best steak that I ever got at the North Star, the erstwhile epitome of steaks in Kansas. So. It's still warm. Southerly wind, straight from Texas. Oklahoma didn't slow it down a bit, I don't think. Yesterday I ran into Eileene, she was working a shift in the ER. Didn't have time to find out much about what was going on with her, though. I really miss working with her. I was at the hospital late on Sat night/Sunday AM and I got to talk with a few of my old buddies, damn and I miss working nights! Tomorrow is trash day, I'd better drag it out there tonight or I'll forget all about it until I'm at work.
