Slooooow day at work. I just barely got up in time... scratch that, I just barely got to work on time. I seem to have not lost my ability to waste time on computers, and I probably never will... So anyhoo, I spent some time teaching a coupla docs how to steal music on the web. I do hope that I haven't ruined them... Speaking of such stuff... I've heard that Napster is trying to make a comeback, but that they are doing poorly. That's really too bad, but once you've had a free lunch, it's hard to go back to paying for it. I could just blow it off and say that it's their fault, anyway, who taught me how to steal music anyway? But I won't do that, I can't do that. I have always had larceny in my heart, but I've never had the guts before. I've also got this really deep-down feeling that if I ever did do something truly larcenous, that I would quickly get caught red-handed. Thrown in jail and laughed at. How ignominious that would be. The weather is starting to get more like November... this morning, I actually had to scrape a very thin layer of frost off of my windshield! It's still pretty pleasant, though, and will be throughout the rest of this week. Karen is off the next three days... she gets a lot more days off than I do, even though we've both been at our places of work for the same length of time... about 30 years. She gets six weeks off, I get four. No justice, just no justice at all... I should get at least six weeks too! Anyways... people are bringing in lots of food to work, and I certainly shouldn't be... omigod! EGG NOG!!!!! It's EGG NOG TIME AGAIN!!!!!! I had completely forgotten about egg nog! How could I? And of course there is no egg nog in the house, and I'm too tired to get dressed and go get some, so I guess that I should suffer, egg nog-less, in silence. Well, I *should*, but that would be completely out of character. However, since we're on the subject of holiday food... I am now accepting entries for the Fifth Annual Nilknarf Best Fudge Contest! That's right, riches and fame may be yours simply by making up the best batch of fudge in the world and sending me a large portion. As you all know, Kim has won the last two years in a row, after de-throning Lisa Dunbar... who, sadly, has quit making entries, evidently in embarrassment at being bested by Kim. But it really was close! And Kim is really really good, and being beaten by Kim is like being beaten by the very best and certainly nothing to be ashamed of... Anyway, I'll keep you all informed about the entries...
