Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

Pretty blah day, much as I intended for it to be. I've had enough excitement lately, I think.

No smoking. I intend to keep it that way. JD called earlier, and he is going to be quitting as soon as he finishes the pack he has open now... I think that's what he said, anyway. The sooner the better.

I also talked to Brother Dan, who stopped smoking years ago... at least ten, maybe fifteen.

And then there's Karen, who never smoked... she told me something Thursday that kinda gave me a different twist on not smoking. She said that I have a tendency to see things only in black and white, but I try to put smoking in a gray area, but it's really more black and white than most other things are... she's right, of course. Smoking is bad, not smoking is good, only smoking a coupla cigarettes is....? what? Of course it's bad, 'cause a coupla cigarettes just isn't really so. There are always more, and it's always bad.

Karen and all of her kids/grandkids are out at lake Perry tonight, watching fireworks, smoking and getting drunk. Well, not Karen, she's watching the kids who aren't old enough to get drunk yet. I decided to pass on this little trip... mostly because of the smoking involved.

Anyway, not smoking doesn't seem to be a really big problem right now. I took two of the xanax yesterday, and only one today. I think that I will try to keep it to one a day if at all possible.

I do understand my doc's aversion to prescribing this class of drugs, though... I think that it has more to do with him retaining his license than anything else, as brother Dan pointed out. But I would rather live the rest of my life addicted to a legal drug instead of smoking. This is just a personal preference, mind you.

I'm eating a bunch of licorice lately... I just love that stuff. Another feel-good drug that should be banned or regulated? Quite probably... don't be spreading the word around on the streets, though, or they'll pass laws against it and the price will go up...

When I was in the hospital, they shaved various parts of my body... those parts are starting to itch. A lot. Like I needed another distraction.

Speaking of distractions... today's picture features Fluffy (AKA... whatever it was that Karen and Lacee decided to call her) she's not happy with getting her picture taken, or about getting picked up by her little neck, either. She didn't claw me, at least...

Thanx for being here!
