Ahhhh... sleep. Karen woke me up when she got home (my alarm had been going off for 30 minutes without waking me) and I managed to stay up until about 20:30 before I had to go back to sleep.
So I got back up at 03:30, having had enough, I guess.
Now I'm not sleepy... just tired.
Got stuff to do today, though. Lotsa stuff. Gotta get the tire fixed on the Subaru... it's had a slow leak for forever, and I've had it fixed twice. This time it will go to a different shop, though. Unfortunately, it's raining... I should'a taken it off yesterday, when it wasn't. My timing for most things has always been pretty bad, and this is not an exception. There are no exceptions, I'm afraid.
Income tax... gotta do that today, finally got all of the stuff. I got the last of what I needed last week, but I wanted to have a clear (relatively speaking) mind before I did it.
I just got home from doing my errands. I got the income tax
About ten minutes later it will be un-deposited and sent to the county to pay property taxes.
Life just ain't fair, is it?
Actually, I hope to be able to get a good motherboard with a one gig chip and start putting together a new computer. Hopefully, I will be able ot continue to get overtime to further this project... there are some good buys on e-bay, board and chip for under $250. And memory is down a bunch too... and so are hard drives.
A very good system:
I already have everything else that I might need already laying around... so I can save about $500-700, depending on where you would buy a complete system.
Building a system is not for the faint of heart, though. There are pitfalls, and, on top of that, you sometimes have to resort to reading the directions.
Anyway, before I took Karen to work, I pulled the wheel off of the Subaru and threw it in the back of the truck. After I got Karen delivered, I took it to the local Goodyear store to let them have a crack at fixing it. They called and said that the tire had a slit on the bead and it wasn't fixable, so I put the donut spare on the car and took it down and got a new pair of tires... $180.00. Not in the budget, but necessary, dammit.
After that got done, I cruised on out to Best Buy to check out their prices... same as what was in the papers
Got home and it started raining in earnest. And the temp is dropping like a rock, too, so it'll be freezing rain in a coupla hours. Once again, the danger of no power looms... but this time the storm won't miss, I been a-watchin' the radar.
34F right now. The edge of the freezing rain looks like it's about 20 miles north of here. There's a big band of snow about 150 miles out too, but it's not supposed to get here until later tonight or tomorrow morning.
The pictures today are of JD and Tyler in 1979... shortly after I got divorced, I bought a polaroid camera and shot lots of pictures during the next coupla years. I have them stored in several shoe-boxes around the house, just like everyone else does. Someday I'll put them all on disk... someday.
Anyway, tonight I hope that it'll just be me and Karen, we haven't really had any time together alone for a long, long time, it seems...
figgered and filed before I took Karen to work... did the electronic filing, along with the electronic signature thing that's new this year. So, in ten to fourteen days my refund will be deposited directly into my checking account.

Sunday... pretty good, but I can do better on-line for most of the stuff. Their memory prices were pretty good, but I think that they'll go down more within the next two weeks.
