"The war for rationality will never be over as long as they're still printing horoscopes in the papers..." paraphrased from a statement by some guy in an atheist forum on about.com.
We had a nice visit with Tyler last night... met his roommates and their pets (two dogs, one bearded dragon) and went out to eat at a sports bar, sat there and talked and ate for an hour or so.
I was tuckered by the time we got home and went to bed pretty quickly, but Karen stayed up watching TV until after 23:00. I didn't get up this morning until 07:30, but I was wanting to sleep much later... I had the alarm set for 10:00.
I fiddled around until noon or so, took a shower and headed to the dentists, where I got shot up with novocaine and had the crown prep done. Next stop is actually getting a real crown... temporary ones always feel so funny.
So I came home and tried to take a nap, but my mouth was still numb and I only managed to sleep for an hour or so. I hate drooling...
After supper, Karen and I went out for a hot fudge sundae, we haven't done that for a long time. Today was not quite as hot as yesterday, and it was almost pleasant after the sun went down... nice little breeze from somewhere.
Karen and I were watching some commercial for something-or-another during the Who wants to be a millionaire show, something about some guy who put himself in pictures with famous people to impress some girl. Karen remarked that you couldn't trust anything any more...
And that's true. Damn near anything can be faked, and pretty easily, in most cases. Usta be, you could at least believe your eyes, but not any more.
Meaning, of course, that you can't trust anybody either... well, that's wrong, you can trust me, of course. But nobody else.
That's very sad.
More tomorrow...
