Well, damn, I didn't get to sleep until past midnight anyways. Karen was watching the Democratic National Convention, and the first lady was on, then Bill was on, and I just had to watch him.
I thought that he was damned good. He outlined how we were better off now, and reminded everyone what the last Republican decade+2 gave us.
I'm not really sure that Gore can give us what Clinton gave us, but I'm really sure that GeeDub will give us more of the voodoo economics and BS that Reagan and G. Bush gave us... and worse. And I don't want that. Not at all.
Anyway, I had thought that I would get up around 09:30 and go to the dentists', but I couldn't sleep past about 07:30.
Anyway... on to the dentist. And, as usual, he hurts me. Well, not much, initially. He was good with the needle, but after the numb wore off...
So I was there until 19:00, spinning my wheels most of the time. I just don't have the patience to put up with all of that stuff any more, if I ever did.
I did watch part of the DNC tonight, Caroline Kennedy. She is not an accomplished public speaker, but she's a damned cute girl and a smart one... you had to listen to her words, though... it was almost painful to watch her. She could probably develop her paternal familys' charisma if she wanted to, but she has been pretty clear about not wanting to, and that's a shame.
On the other hand, Uncle Teddys' charisma didn't outlast the dunking it took so many years ago... he pretty much leaves me flat, I'm afraid.
I'm going to try to stay up most of the night and sleep tomorrow, but I'm not expecting that plan to work out, since it never does. I'm just gonna hope, that's all. I know that the staying-up part will, I'm just not sure about the sleeping part.
But the numb was still there when I got to work. And I was again reminded of why I don't like working days... lots of confusion. I was working in CT, and the new machine blew a tube, so we were using the older one in Radiotherapy... having to share it, so we were behind. Way behind. And there was trouble with every patient, as far as getting the patient... someone else wanted them first, or another department had put them somewhere and not told us... stuff like that.
