Well, I did stay up pretty late last night, until about 02:00, in fact. Just as I was getting ready to hit the sack about 23:00 I decided to smoke one more cigarette and I was out on the deck preparing to do that.
I was in the process of fumbling around with the lighter (I don't turn the light on when I go out to smoke) when a truck pulls up... it's Tyler!
I'm in a quandary here... I haven't yet lit my cigarette as he comes up the driveway. Should I scare the hell out of him? The temptation is great, but I resist. Damn, it was hard. I lit the cigarette just as he hit the deck, so that he had time to register the fact that I was there.
We sat down on the swing and smoked and talked for a while. Once again, he tells me that he has not been smoking any dope.
Although this pleases me greatly, this is the conversation that ensued:
Me: "So! Not smoking any dope, huh?"
O'well, I've had worse things happen before, and they probably will again.
Anyway, I got up at 07:00 when Karen did, and I plan on going back to bed for a coupla hours in a few minutes since I didn't sleep late. It's gonna be another hot, hot day... we've had four days over a hundred F this last week and I've slept through them. It's only going to get up to 95 today, though, so they say. Yesterday at 18:00 the heat index was 107F. Karen and Lacee went swimming over at Matt's... I should've gone with them, but I didn't. Next time I will.
After Karen left, I went to the bank to deposit my paycheck, and we still don't have any money. I'm getting discouraged... the OT that I get today won't be in the bank for two more weeks. I keep wondering how we're getting so far behind in everything, then I realize that damn near everything has gone up... a damned sight more than the paltry raise that I got.
O'well... more tomorrow.
Tyler: "Nope, not at all."
Me: "Dammit, Tyler, you made some major sacrifices because you wouldn't stop; now that you've got a place of your own where you can smoke anytime that you want to, you don't! What's with that?"
Tyler: "Heh."
There are black lines on the picture coming from my camera, dammit, and I don't know why. They weren't there yesterday, and I didn't do anything to make them be there. I don't want them there, but there they are anyway.
