Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

Again, not enough sleep. I went to bed too late last night and got up too early this morning.... by the time I decided that I wanted to go back to sleep, I'd drank two pots of coffee. Heh... no sleep for me.

So, I worked on the truck. And it was cold. My fingers couldn't work for very long with that cold metal, so frequent breaks were prescribed. It was supposed to get up to 45F today, but it hadn't broken 30F when I started working, and I'm not sure if it ever did. Supposed to get into the 60s on Friday, though.

And I almost got it done... took about two hours to get the damned thing out. The book says, in one simple sentence: "Remove the cowling..." and that takes an hour. O'well... not like I'm doing anything else with my time...

The nice thing about working on cars in the cold is that your hands don't hurt so much when you bust your knuckles. Until you come inside and wash them and find the blood underneath the grease...

So I've got about an hour's worth to do tomorrow. I gave up when my cold fingers couldn't hold a nut (in a very tight place) well enough to thread it onto the bolt. I tried three times in about an31 hour, with adequate rest inbetween times. Then I said the hell with it, I'll just go in and nab some more tunes on Napster.

The damned mail server is down again. I'm lost without email. Lost, lost. That means that the people on my reminder list ( which you are all free to join, incidentally...) won't get notified until the mail server goes up. Oddly, the rest of the site is working OK right now.

And it's past my bedtime...

Thanx for being here!
