A pretty boring day at Medassist. I got there at 10:45, and there was a patient with a lacerated finger. Michelle had done three other patients. She left at 11:00 and I did one other patient with a spider bite. That was it until about 14:00 or so. A couple of patients, then about 16:00 a couple more, one another laceration.
We did have an interesting lunch. Mr Goodcents delivers. I called them, told them our address and that it was medassist. She said it'd be 30 minutes. In about 45 minutes the other medassist called and said that she'd just left there. She paid no attention when I told her the address, it seems. She knew where medassist was, so she didn't listen. She was really nice, nine months pregnant, due today. She told me that we were out of the delivery area, that they wouldn't deliver that far out. But she brought me a menu, just in case I could talk them into it!
My cardiologist wants me to have a glucose tolerance test, I'll do that Monday morning. I also need to wear a heart monitor for a week, starting sometime next week. They have them ordered, but they aren't in yet. Evidently they just record if there is an irregularity, and hopefully they'll be smaller than the Holter monitors, which are a real pain to wear for even a day. I've done that several times before. I'll probably have to get my chest shaved again, though. The hair has finally grown back from the last stress test....
Karen and I are going to Wichita tomorrow morning. Her sister wants us to stay with them, sleeping on a 20-year-old hide-a-bed. The mom wants us to stay with them, in a bedroom with twin beds. I hang over on both of them, have never gotten a good night's sleep in Wichita. I think we might opt for a motel, even though we can't afford it.
I do have an interesting book to read, though. Dr. Lasseter, the Doc at the new Medassist, loaned me a book about Bosnia-Hertzagovenia and that region, and I've seen some good reviews of it on-line, it's The Impossible Country by Brian Hall. I've read the first ten chapters (like I said, we weren't busy today) and while it isn't the most interesting book I've ever read, it's pretty damned good. I hope to gain some insight as to why those people like to kill each other, I don't understand it. However, there's a trap there: if you look into the mind of a maniac, and understand what you see... then you're probably a maniac yourself.
I re-arranged my front page, nothing really big, though. I might get a chance to write tomorrow before we head out, maybe not. Sunday night for sure, though..
