Yesterday was more fun than I had expected it to be...Karen & I took Kim & Lacee out to eat, then to Target. Karen had bought a duck that quacks various nursery rhyme songs, and Lacee fell in love with it, even though it was intended for all of the little kids, and will reside at our house. (I voted against this, incidentally. It's cute, but I don't want to live with it.) Earlier, Karen & I had gone for a walk in the park; I got exhausted long before she or doggie did. But Lacee seemed to revive my energies. She has a way about her that does that! Anyway, we went to Taco Tico for lunch. I wasn't hungry, but I ate half of Karen's tostado. Lacee made a mess with her taco, I don't think she got much of it down, she was excited about going to Target. She insisted on hauling the duck(mac) with her everywhere. When I told her that he might get lost at Target, she thought a minute, then said, "he can't walk; he won't get lost, grampa!" I made a slow circuit around the store while the ladies did their shopping, then I waited in the van for them to go through the checkout. It was sprinkling in earnest, but it didn't quite have the stamina to just rain. Kim & Lacee spent an hour or so with us, Kim watching "the young & the restless" that Karen had recorded on Friday. Lacee wouldn't take a nap, and Karen took them home, then came back and seduced me. That doesn't happen on a regular basis, unfortunately!

Herman, Debbi & Ashley came over about 19:00 & we spent an enjoyable evening just sitting around BS-ing while Ashley went downstairs & played on Matt's nintendo. By the time they were ready to leave, it had started sprinkling heavily again. Karen & I almost immediately retired, exhausted from the day.

I was awakened later by the sound of sustained thunder. I got up and, yes indeedy, it was really raining! Went back to sleep & slept 'til 09:00. Karen had made the coffee & got the paper in, so we sat and read and listened to Chip Davis' "Sunday Morning Coffee" parts I and II.

Karen has a sinus headache, so she took some medication & went back to bed. I hope she gets better; these headaches knock her out for a day or two sometimes. I'm feeling better, incision-wise. however, I seem to have a pain where my gall bladder was. Probably nothing to worry about, but weird nonetheless. Today will most likely be pretty uneventful; I'm going to go in a give Karen a back, neck & head rub to try to relieve some of her misery, then I'll probably lay down again myself & sleep the rest of the day. Last night was the first night since my surgery that I've slept all night, but that still isn't enough!

Thanx for being here!
