Due to the interest in SETI, I thought that I put out a little primer on the subject....

SETI is the Search for ExtraTerrestial Intelligence.

Now, I'm well aware that many of us are still looking for signs of terrestrial intelligence.... and not finding any, ant least in the present government....

Anyway, SETI is a method of searching for radio signals.... using a radio telescope.

Distributed processing... using computers world-wide to process the signals. Volunteers, each willing to take the time to download the program.

I've been runnig SETI for 5/5- years, and nary a problem.

SETI does not use memory or provcessing cycles when another program is in use... only the unused cycles. It gives way readily to any other program running on your machine.

You can either join the nilknarf.net team or strike out on yer own... If you want to join the nilknarf.team, open the BOINC manager and go to ATTACH NEW PROJECTS.

A window will pop up wanting a URL and an account number.
